The economic revival yields its first fruits although at the moment we are rather inclined to ascribe them to the far too mild weather. At inet-logistics we do not only feel the upward movement because of the growing demand for our logistics-server®, which we will now also introduce at ThyssenKrupp Materials Europe, but also especially because of the type of problems which we are asked to solve. Thus, many logisticians have, for example, expressed the wish to optimise freight costs in order to transport more goods again (thanks to the economic recovery) in spite of too little storage space capacities (downside of the boom) and rising oil prices (no comment!) without blowing the logistics budgets which are always too tight. The comprehensive methods for resolution which the logistics-server® provides, offer numerous interesting options here for resolving this apparent goal conflict. However, read in this newsletter for yourself what contributions the logistics-server® can make in this and in other fields, how ThyssenKrupp Materials Europe will use the logistics-server® and above all how we further develop the logistics-server® at the moment in cooperation with the Fraunhofer IML, for example, in the field Supply Chain Execution in terms of technology and innovation leadership.

For the new year we wish you and your family all the best. We are looking forward to becoming active with and for you again in 2007.

‹‹inet-News 09/2006››
The 4th issue of inet-News marks a milestone: it has been nearly a year now since we first released our newsletter in a new format. We are happy about the many constructive suggestions we have received and the positive feedback - on the graphic design and above all the content. User reports such as those by Magna Steyr Automotive Engineering and Novartis, special contributions on current topics around the Supply Chain Execution, and the interview with Professor Elgar Fleisch about the opportunities of RFID have not only been received with a keen interest but have also prompted, in many cases, an intensive, personal dialog. They have possibly also contributed to the projects which have been won in the meantime especially those with new customers. More on this topic at and after the 23rd German Logistics Congress in Berlin. Visit us!

Beginning with this issue we want to extend inet-News by one more dimension. We will tie together special topics with the the introduction of the professionals who represent this know-how in our company. After all, the team we will present to you in the course of the next months is - apart from our expertise in IT and logistics - one of the supporting pillars of our portfolio.

Anyone talking about innovation in the logistics sector these days does not get around the "magical" four letters RFID. And for a good reason! This technology brings sustainable improvements to working procedures, processes and supply chains. inet-logistics is evaluating the possibilities for shipment tracking in cross-company transport processes with Radio Frequency Identification, and already has new products and solutions based on recently gained knowledge. An example is the Shipment Localisation Kit. Another is our solution for Cool Chain Monitoring for reliable recording and tracking of temperature data during the entire transport process.

Innovative, high-quality solutions are both challenge and matter of course for inet-logistics. Often the solutions are the result of our active and close collaboration with leading research and educational institutions and with customers – for example, the automation of the VDA compliant pickup process. Our product strategy is based on the practical requirements and foresight won through these relationships. We are pleased to present to you where we are currently active and what potential resides in our expertise - preferably on-site but for now in our current issue of inet-News with its focus on "innovation".

‹‹inet-News 01/2006››
Today, we present you the second issue of the inet-News. Therein you will find above all user reports concerning the Supply Chain Execution, i.e., information about trends, tasks and processes that are relevant for the planning, execution and monitoring of transports. Our continuous solutions address the special challenges within the Supply Chain Execution. Our customers confirm this fact. And so we are very happy about the new collaboration with Schefenacker AG and Flextronics Nyiregyhaza Operations, Hungary. Numerous existing customer relations have been intensified through the upgrade and extension of already available solutions.

At this point we take the liberty to give you a short preview to the next inet-News which will appear in April: we will then give you some insight into the structured product development in our company and point out how a continuous Supply Chain Execution can be optimised through the use of RFID-technology in connection with GSM and/or GPS.
