inet peak challenge – ready for 6000

Peak performance can also be fun. On 10th September, all inet employees who were not on call or on a well-earned holiday were on the up and up. Group climbing was scheduled for the morning, and nobody knew quite why.

10/14/2009 Colleagues and friends from across all departments formed teams who cheered each other on, buckled each other’s harnesses and took it in turns to lead the way to the summit. We must make it clear that this shared experience took place in a climbing hall, which does not in any way diminish the sense of achievement. Even the regular mountain climbers and keen sportsmen and women among them needed to apply full concentration and maximum effort to reach their high-level goal.

The IT and logistics specialists from the management team only discovered what was on the program during a communal coffee break: “Ready for 6000” was the award that each team member had earned for his or her strength, stamina and ambition. “Ready for 6000 is a brilliant starting point for each individual to make a contribution, so that together we can achieve our goal of becoming one of the top five TMS providers in the world within five years,” explained Oswald Werle when, together with managing director Wolfgang Erhart, he presented the new brand identity, the new positioning and the results of last year’s in-depth review by the management team. “If within five years, we manage to get to the 6,000 peaks with flying colors, then we can always tackle the 8,000 milestone. If we manage that, then we will be one of the three largest TMS providers in the world,” says the CEO, describing the prospects. And very persuasively too, since the response to both the explanation and the event was very enthusiastic. What about those colleagues still on duty or on holiday? “We climbed for them, because as a team we represent each other. That’s the only way to reach the top,” said one of the women participants in the inet peak challenge.
