01/26/2010 The decentralized execution of special transports lead to a lack of transparency at the automotive supplier regarding costs and prices of these short-term, difficult to plan transports. Moreover, it was impossible to adequately evaluate the performance of the selected providers.

Therefore, the inet solution transportation management with its modules transportation order management and transportation dispatching including ad hoc sourcing (spot sourcing) will be deployed at the end of March.

The spot sourcing functionality of the module transportation dispatching by inet-logistics enables optimized purchasing of freight capacity on the spot market. The integrated tendering tool offers all necessary functions from tendering to delivery. Thus, process costs and errors are reduced, frictionless interaction and communication are facilitated. In addition, better prices can be achieved on the spot market. Complete visibility also enables the desired performance evaluation of the providers.

The inet solution transportation management will be initially deployed in six plants and four module centers in Germany, later on the roll-out onto further seven plants in Spain is planned. Another future scope is the integration of Peguform’s ERP System for freight cost clearing.
