Magna Steyr. 30.000 Parts per Day Disposed

A software solution helps to manage tax revenue and to reduce costs

(trans aktuell 01.2006) Each company which quintuples its transport volume in a very short time span has to rethink its logistics processes in order to keep track over the transactions. This situation has occurred at Magna Steyr Automotive Engineering in Graz, Austria. This company relies on an Internet-based software solution for the transport organisation, the monitoring of the loading devices and the freight controlling. The application is the result from the collaboration between the software producers inet-logistics and 4flow and the management consulting agency Nexolab. The fact that the solution is web-based, is an advantage for all users.

The linked logistics service providers, suppliers and internal users can work with the solution directly in the Internet without any additional software installations. The effect: "On the basis of the uniform process and the system support we are able to achieve shorter planning cycles and thus a higher efficiency level," says Mr Lasser from Magna Steyr. The company controls by means of the solution the supply of 30,000 different single components from more than 1,000 supplier locations and the associated empties distribution of 2,000 different loading devices.
