Vorarlberger Know-How for Complex Logistic Processes

inet-logistics specializes in transport management

(Der Standard 06.2006) People from Vorarlberg are generally considered to be very good when it comes to saving. They also seem to be very generous though because they like to share their saving-know-how with other people. They develop, for example, software solutions which help industrial enterprises to keep their transport costs as low as possible. The whole thing is then called supply chain execution, i.e. the planning, monitoring and execution of cross-company logistics processes, and this is the speciality of inet-logistics which counts 50 employees and has its headquarters in Wolfurt near Bregenz.

The starting point for the inet-solutions is the fact that companies from retail and industry such as Magna Steyr Automotive Engineering, Novartis, OMV, Hilti and others which occupy a place in the customer list of the Vorarlberg company work together with various carriers for the transport of their raw materials or goods. Most of these transport companies use different software solutions, file formats etc. which does not make communication, i.e., the exchange of data, easy. Here the solutions of inet-logistics come into play. The core product logistics-server quasi takes on the interface-communication between carrier and customer. The solutions range from the "simple" transport management, to the procurement and loading device management up to the freight cost management. "What makes our solution so very special is its versatility and the fact that basically the only precondition is an Internet-browser," says CEO Oswald Werle. Founded in 1999 the software house which is active in Austria, Germany and Switzerland wants to expand its business to Eastern Europe in the next few years.
